Choo Choo!

I pulled out the train set for Lincoln to play with today. He LOVED it!! I got him all geared up with his had and scarf...and of course he needed a whistle!!
He played for so long with these, and before I have put in the batteries! Won't he be excited when it goes by itself?!

I got a good laugh when his hat fell off and he put it back on backwards...so hip already! :)

Cuteness...

Ethan and Porter have been begging to have Lincoln sleep in their room with them. They each got a turn to have him sleep in their bed. Porter got his turn last night, and when I checked on them before I went to bed, I found Porter with his arm wrapped around his brother. This boy is so loved!!

Porter's Birthday Bonanza!!

We had Porter's birthday party yesterday at my parents house. After the success of last years party, we decided to get a water slide again. Lincoln was excited when he saw them blowing it up and wanted to help fill up the pool. We got a different one this year, it was so steep that if the kids jumped from the top they landed right at the bottom and then bounced in the pool! Everyone had a great time. I realized that I took more video than pictures this time, but I got a few.

I was really surprised that Lincoln didn't like the slide. He went on with Bryan, and didn't want to do it again.

Probably because the back was so hard to climb up. I think Bryan slipped a couple times trying to hold him and climb at the same time and it scared him. It was just as fun watching the back of the slide as the front! Everyone kept slipping down!

Porter got a new game from his cousins...

and ten bucks from his great grandma! He thought he was rich, that's the most money he's ever had!

After opening his gifts we went inside for birthday cake. This year he asked for "A dragon cake that breaths fire!"
I made it the night before while he was sleeping. He was pretty surprised when he saw it. I love this boy so much!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PORTER!!!

Porter's Birthday

Porter turned 5 today!! We kept it simple today since we are having his party on Saturday. It worked out well that our friends have their anniversary on Porter's birthday. We invited their kids to come hang out, so they got free babysitting for their date, and Porter got to have his buddies over for his birthday! We did have him open his gifts. He's been asking for something remote controlled forever, so we got him a truck and he was so happy.

He was excited about his new scooter too, now all the boys have their own.

Porter has made a pretty big birthday cake request for his party, so we had a mini one for him tonight, and he blew out his candles without any trouble! :)

Porter's 5 year old fun facts:

He is 43 inches tall.

Favorite food: Pizza and cinnamon rolls!

Favorite color: "All colors except for pink and purple!"

Favorite show: Phineas and Ferb

Is obsessed with card games, especially Uno.

He loves wrestle time with Dad, and is pretty good at it!

Loves school, and is excited for kindergarten to start.

Fourth of July

We had my mom, dad, Trevor, and my niece and nephews over for the 4th. After a yummy dinner, we sat out on the balcony to watch the fireworks. They were good until they stopped abruptly. We noticed through some binoculars that they had set the hill on fire where they were setting them off!! We sat and waited and watched all the other small ones that were farther away, hoping they would start up again.
Unfortunately, it was getting really late so my parents and crew had to leave. Five minutes after they left my mom called to tell me they had started again, figures!! We still had a great time anyway. I will leave you with the awesomeness that is my brother!! Happy Fourth of July!!

Summer Fun

Rob only had a morning appointment on Thursday so we took advantage and went up to my mom and dad's house to spend the night. We had so much fun!! We went to a great new burger place for dinner and then topped off with some sonic slushies! Friday we spent most of the day in the pool.
All the boys have made such huge progress in the pool over the last couple of weeks. Lincoln has figured out how to swim around on his own with his floaties, Porter is getting braver to take off his jacket to try and swim, and Ethan can now swim the length of the pool! It's not pretty yet, but hey, it keeps his head above water!!

And the biggest deal of all, they will jump in the water and have their heads go under. They have always had issues with water in their eyes, now all they want to do is cannonballs!!

After a long day of swimming we enjoyed some homemade salsa and guacamole with a great dinner. Even Lincoln was getting in on it! I can't blame him, it was so yummy, I've been craving it since!

We had so much fun. The boys really enjoyed hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa and Trevor. With a big family and so many grand kids, it's not often they get them to themselves. Thanks Mom and Dad for having us!!
