Determined

Ethan told me all day yesterday that he was supposed to wear green and yellow to school today. He said their was a contest and that whoever wore the most got a prize. So I laid out a green shirt for him to wear, but apparently that wasn't good enough. When I went to wake him up for school this morning, I found a piece of paper taped to it with a green and yellow checkerboard print he had colored sometime after I had put them to bed. I was fine with that, but then he came upstairs with his baseball pants he had wore the night before to his game.

I didn't understand at first until he pointed out the green grass stains. I told him that the pants weren't acceptable to wear to school, because after a long season of baseball they had holes in them. He then told me that he fixed the holes...

...with tape!! I just laughed and told him he couldn't wear them. So he went back to his room and came back in his army print pajama pants. By then I didn't have time for him to change again. So I caved and let him wear his pajamas to school.

Ethan is a very determined child. When he gets his mind set on something, there's not much that's going to stop him...accept maybe his mean old mom! :)

Oh, and he didn't win the contest...oh well!

My Baby is Two!!

Lincoln turned two today!! He loves balloons so we blew a bunch up last night to surprise him when he woke up. He LOVED it!

Dad picked out a new bat and ball for our little man...

and he got his very own scooter. He's already a pro at riding these, since practicing on his brothers.

I made him a puppy cake and he did a great job blowing out the candle. I wasn't sure he would know how!

Lincoln is such a special little boy. Everyone that knows him adores him. We love him so much!

Lincoln's two year old fun facts:

1.He weighs 30lbs. and is 35 inches tall

2.Is starting to talk like crazy

3.Favorite toys- His bat and any kind of ball!

4.Because of his love of balls, he only wants to wear shirts with balls on them. This can become a battle at times.

5.He is so affectionate, and always will randomly come up and kiss me.

6.He loves the bath and usually ends up getting two a day because he askes so cute.

7.He loves his big brothers and wants to copy anything they do.

8.Loves to ride scooters.

9. Still LOVES dogs.

10.He has a great sense of humor and will do anything to make us laugh.

Kindergarten Check Up

Porter had his Kindergarden Dr. appointment today. I thought I would prepare him a little and told him on the way there that he would probably be getting a couple of shots. BIG mistake!! He cried the rest of the way there. I had to peel him out of his seat when we got there and carry him. Once we got inside he calmed down, but was still pretty nervous. I think the promise of treats afterward helped a lot!

We were both surprised when the doctor said that he didn't need any shots because he got everything he needed at his last appointment. Unfortunately he had to get his blood drawn. He did really well. He didn't cry at all while they did it, but I think he was holding his breath the whole time!

After his appointment we went and got some cheeseburgers (his favorite) and then went for some frozen yogurt. Porter got chocolate and loaded it up with gummy bears.

They even had cartoons on in the store!

Porter was a pretty big mess by the time he was done. I just cracked up watching him try to lick himself clean!

Family Getaway

Rob took off this past weekend in hopes that we could take the boys to the beach. After we checked the weather, we realized that it was just going to be too cold! So we decided to head out to Palm Springs where we knew it would be warm. We stayed at a beautiful hotel there, one of the nicest we've stayed at. The pool was awesome. They had a big pool and a little one for kids that was only 2ft deep. It was perfect. We spent most of the first day in the kids pool. We pretty much had it to ourselves the whole time. The boys enjoyed playing in the water without having to wear their jackets. We taught them to play Marco Polo, and Ethan figured out that he could wear his goggles and not have to worry about getting splashed.

They even had a sand boy next to the kids pool that Lincoln loved.

After we swam all day we headed up to our room to relax. I guess Lincoln didn't think that he got enough time swimming, because as soon as he saw the tub he insisted that he needed a bath.

Rob went and picked up a pizza, and we hung out and watched a movie.

The next morning Ethan woke up and got ready for the pool right away.

We spent the morning in the pool until we had to check out.

Lincoln was so content just lounging and eating snacks.

It was the perfect little getaway. The boys had so much fun!

Two Minutes Later...

I was just about to leave to get the boys from this afternoon. I went to my office to check my email real quick. It took me two minutes. I came back to find Lincoln had taken all the yogurt out of the fridge and had already finished off two of them. He was chugging as fast as he could!

He was quite proud of himself, and he definitely knows how to work the cute factor to get what he wants!

Mother's Day

I was completely spoiled today. My sweet boys(all four of them) were so good to me all day. Ethan had put together a gift for me weeks ago and has had it labeled not to open until today. Rob helped him put it in a safe spot up on the wall, and Porter followed suit.

Rob and the boys made me a card. Lincoln was so proud that his hand was on it.

Ethan had already given me a necklace, but he also gave me a ring and a card he made himself. At school when he remembers to bring his reading group books and homework he earns stickers. For each ten stickers he earns a prize. Both the ring and the necklace he picked out for me from the prize box, when he could have gotten something for himself.

Porter made me an awesome bracelet at school.

With all my bling I was ready for church! :)

I am so lucky to be the mom of these cute boys!

Mother's Day Tea

Ethan's class had all the moms come in today for a Mother's Day Tea. It was so cute. All the moms lined up outside the door and one by one were let in. Upon entering Ethan took me by the hand and escorted me to my(his) seat. Then he presented me with all kinds of gifts.

Once all the moms got to their seats, the kids performed some songs for us, then went and got each of us a plate of food. We got to sit and eat together, and visit with some of the other moms. Ethan is so thoughtful, and even let me open one of my mother's day gifts early so that I could wear my necklace for our special day.

Diary of a Wimpy Mom

Porter had a bit of a run in with a swinging garden hose yesterday and ended up needing some stitches. My poor Porter seems to be the one that always ends up getting hurt. He takes it like a champ though. He hardly cried until the doctor told him he would need the stitches. He was so scared and it just broke my heart. While they were working on him, I tried to talk to him to distract him. We were discussing what kind of flavor of ice cream we wanted to get when he was done when all of the sudden my head started spinning, and the voices around me became muffled. I said aloud, "I'm not feeling very good." The nurse took one look at me and yelled, "Get a chair for mom!" I used to work in the medical field and have seen my share of blood and wounds and have never passed out in my life. I guess it's a little different when your watching your own child. I didn't pass out, but was pretty out of it. Pathetic, I know! So they finish up with Porter and then the nurse asks how I feel. I feel horrible that now they have to worry about me too. She leaves and comes back with some snacks for Porter and me. So Porter and I hang out with our mini juice box and crackers until we both feel better. Now Porter gets to wear a band aid right in the middle of his forehead until it heals.

And guess who insists he needs one too?!

Teacher Appreciation

This week for teacher appreciation Ethan made a card for his teacher. He was so cute and did it all by himself.

"Thank you for being my teacher"

"How did you like to be my teacher? I like you, not the I love you kind"

"Do you like my card?"

Catcher

Porter got to play catcher at his game today. I love seeing the little guy all geared up it is just the cutest thing. He has played catcher before. The first time he caught, he got behind the plate and as soon as I was about to get a picture of him, he ran off the field to go to the bathroom. By the time he got off all the gear and went to the bathroom, he came back only to find that the inning was over. The next time he got to play catcher there was no coach behind the plate telling him what to do. He literally sat on his bum and played in the dirt...it would have been a great shot if only I had remembered my camera! Today was a big improvement. Most of the balls went over his head but he made an attempt to catch every one! We were so proud of him!
