Cool Tricks and Silly Pajamas

Ethan came upstairs today and told me he needed to show me something. He took me to the playroom and did this...

I don't know where he comes up with this stuff! And yes, he is in his pajamas, and no, they don't match. He loves both pairs so much he can't decide which to wear, so he always wears one of each!

Rainy Day Baking

This morning it was raining so I told the boys that we would have to think of something fun to do since we couldn't go outside. Immediately Ethan says, "Lets make cinnamon rolls!" I tried to talk him into something else, but it was useless. So the boys strapped on their aprons and got to work. It takes twice as long when they help, but how can you say no to these faces?!

When we were done and the boys sat down to eat their rolls I had to laugh when I saw Lincoln using Ethan's technique to eat it. He will copy anything they do!

Cousins

While my sister Amy and her hubby went to Palm Springs for a few days I got to have their cute kids with me. My kids were beyond excited to have a sleepover for 2 nights. Sunday night they joined us for our weekly AFV viewing. They looked so cute all lined up on the couch together!

Monday we went and hiked up Mt. Rubidoux.

Being a holiday there were quite a few people making the same hike. It was pretty funny watching the expressions on peoples faces as they passed us going down, assuming all these kids were ours.

Lincoln was such a trooper and actually got mad when we carried him. He wanted to walk like the big kids.
We made it to the top to enjoy the amazing view.

That night we took the kids to the new sports park. Rob practiced baseball with the boys and I took the girls to the playground. It was such a fun day.
Yesterday we just hung out. The kids played so well together. I didn't even get asked one time for them to watch TV. (Which usually I hear all day from mine.) I even got in some girl time and painted the girls toenails! All the kids love Lincoln and getting attention from him. I caught Spencer holding hands and cuddling with Lincoln, too cute!!
It was so fun having my nieces and nephew for a few days. They are so good to my kids.

A New Baseball Season

Spring baseball has started and Porter is playing tee ball, and Ethan has moved up to the farm league. This should be a fun season to watch, tee ball is always pretty hilarious. They both had their first practice tonight.
Porter did a good job pointing out where the bases were to his coach,

and he loved running the bases,

but in the outfield it was a little harder for him to pay attention.

Ethan just barely made the cut off to move to the next league, so he's the youngest on the team. I hope that he can learn from the older kids and not get frustrated. I unfortunately didn't get a decent picture of him at his practice, it was just too dark by then. He did well though.
Lincoln loves going to the ball park too. He's ready to play!

Funny Traditions

When Ethan was little he loved eating rolled up tortillas. One day we pretended that it was an instrument and blew in our horns with a "hoo, hoo". From that day on he asked for a hoo, hoo because really, what one year old can say tortilla? It has stuck and has kind of become a tradition to teach the next child how to blow his horn. Lincoln has just learned to say hoo hoo and eat his tortilla the proper way, and it just makes me smile.

My Funny Valentine

I received this valentine card from Ethan today...

In case you can't read it, it says:

"Mom why do you like to poop your pants? I love you."

Sigh.

At least he loves me.

Snow Days

We took advantage of the holiday and headed up to the snow for a couple of days of play. We rented a cabin with our friends Jake and Ashley and got there Thursday afternoon. After we checked in we went to find a spot to use our sleds. We found the perfect place and the kids had a blast. I loved hearing their squeals of delight as they went down the hill.

Lincoln loved the sled. When Rob would ask him if he was ready to go, he would throw his hands in the air.

When Ethan wasn't using the sled, all he wanted to do was eat the snow. (Despite his mother pleading with him not to--who knows what's in there!)

Once the sun started going down we went back to the cabin to clean up and headed out to get some dinner. I had put some ketchup on Porter's plate and after he had finished his dinner I caught him licking his plate clean!

When we got back to the cabin kids had a great time just running circles around the place. It was pretty funny to watch. Lincoln may have been the ring leader, he loves chasing his brothers around.
Friday we went over to a tubing place. It was much steeper compared to the little spot we had found the day before so I wasn't sure how the boys would do. To be honest I was a little nervous that first run down, but it was so fun! The boys loved it. I don't know if Porter ever took a break! The tubes weren't light and he carried that thing up the stairs over and over again!

Lincoln unfortunately didn't feel good that day, maybe too much time in the snow the day before. He fell asleep and Rob laid him on an inner tube and he didn't move. He probably slept there a couple hours!

But then Daddy couldn't help but get in some good cuddle time.

The big kids had fun too!

There was a debate over who had the faster tube, so the only way to test it was a race! Jake was the clear winner. Next time we will all remember to get the most inflated tube.

There was plenty of snow to just play in too. We had a couple of snowball fights break out,

some snow angels were made,

some snow towers were built,

and Ethan created his own tower out of strategically placed snowballs.

It was a great little getaway from reality. I think we all wished we had booked another night.

Grandma's got skills!

I came into the kitchen today to find this...

He said that Ethan taught him how to do it. When I asked Ethan where he learned how to do that he said "Grandmas house". I couldn't imagine my mom sitting down with the boys to teach them how to stack cups. When I asked him more about it he said, "You know, every time we go to Grandma's house she stacks the cups when she washes them." I'd never really noticed, but Ethan must have been pretty impressed!

Sharp Shooter

Thanks to his big brothers Lincoln has learned the fun of toy guns. He loves coming after me, and getting my Oscar worthy scared reaction. He makes an awesome shooting face too!
I love that he's shooting me with the gun upside down! :)

Ethan's Mad Face

Ethan got some silly putty today at the dollar store. I must have done something to upset him because he came up to me and told me that this face was for me.

It was hard for me to take him seriously when his "mouth" looked like a mustache!
