Missing His Brothers

Poor Bryson has really had a hard time this week with his brothers going back to school. He misses having  his buddies at home all day to play with. Every day when we drop them off he starts crying. It is the saddest yet sweetest thing ever.

Mustache Day

Mustache Day was all fun and games...

...until Porter puts his face next to mine and he wreaked of permanent marker!

Thank goodness I got him straight to the sink and it washed off.

First Day of School

The boys had their first day of school today. Lincoln is in kindergarten now. I am going to miss my little buddy so much, but he is so excited to go to school. His teacher is Mrs. Remington.

Porter is in 3rd grade and happy to have Mrs. Fryan, who was Ethan's teacher last year.

Ethan is now in 4th grade and has Mrs. Fortenberry for his teacher. He is excited that almost all his friends are in his class this year.

Bryson isn't starting school yet but he insisted that he needed to wear his backpack and take a picture too. He's had a rough day while his brothers were gone. He loves them and misses them when they are not here.

After school we went out for our traditional first day of school ice cream.

San Diego Getaway- Safari Park

Our last day was spent at the Safari Park. We had a great time together. We got to see some cool stuff. The highlight was definitely seeing the cheetah run at full speed. Just amazing in person.

The baby gorilla with its momma was so cute.

And so was the tiny armadillo.

It was so hot, so when we saw a splash pad, we let the kids get totally soaked.

It was a nice day spent with my own monkeys!!

San Diego Getaway- Beach Day

Our second day in San Diego we spent at the beach. We started our morning at Krispy Kreme. The kids were fascinated by how the donuts were made.

They each got there own hat too.

Everybody loves a good donut!

We left the beach and I realized I didn't take a single picture. I guess that means we were having too much fun. After showing the the boys theater we went to the night Rob proposed to me the day before, we decided we would take them to the spot where he popped the question. By the time we got there all the boys were passed out in the car except Porter. At least we were able to have him take some pictures for us.

It was fun to go back there. We hadn't been there since he proposed. Torrey Pines will always be a special place to us.

San Diego Getaway- Old Town

We took a little get away to San Diego for a few days. We left after church and started at the Mormon Battalion museum. It was the perfect Sunday activity. The boys always love going there.

Lincoln was chosen to dress up as a soldier during the tour. He looked so cute in that giant hat.

We always have to pan for some gold before we leave too.

We went for a walk through old town. The boys find the best trees to climb.

And they love making Dad catch them when they jump down.

We walked past the theater that Rob took me to the night he proposed. It was fun to share the story with the boys.

We found a little trail near the museum. There was a nice view from up there.

It went up a hill and of course Rob and the boys had to tease me when I told them that I was worried about them standing too close to the edge.

We used priceline's name your own price deal to get a hotel. Unfortunately, you don't get to choose the hotel. I'm usually pretty good at figuring out which one it will be, but I was surprised when we got the Hotel St. James in the gaslamp district. It was in a building that was built in 1913, pretty cool. The boys were bummed that there wasn't a pool, but it had a really awesome roof top deck with a great view of the city. We hung out there the rest of the night. We watched the sun go down, had some dinner, and the boys got some wiggles out and played tag.

I think the elevator was original to the building. The boys called it the Harry Potter elevator.

The boys had their own room which was really nice. We put on a movie for them with some popcorn, before going to bed.
