Oatmeal Lover

This boy is obsessed with oatmeal! It's pretty much the only thing he wants to eat. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks in between. He brings me a bowl and a packet of instant oatmeal, and says "meal". Then when he only has a couple of bites left that he can't get on his own he brings me the bowl and spoon and says "help". It's pretty much the cutest thing ever.

Funny business on the sideline and Ethan's first game

Ethan had his first game of the season today. He played hard and looked like he was going to pass out on the court from running so much. 

Lincoln's game was hilarious as usual to watch. Most of the entertainment this time came from watching him on the bench. He was being funny with his teammates. 

At one point in the game he pulled down his shorts to show his friend his new underwear. We were all cracking up pretty good.

Ethan's Birthday- Part 2

As Ethan's birthday was getting closer, I asked him if he would rather have a party with friends or if he wanted to spend it with family. He chose to spend it with family. We had a little party at my parents house so his cousins could be there too.  He asked for cookies instead of cake again this year, but requested that it be stacked up like a castle.

This is the best I could do with that.

Ethan came up with his own ideas for games to play. We shot water balloons at his hand drawn target. I don't think anyone hit it, but we sure had fun.

Then we attached balloons to all the kids feet and they had to try to pop each others while protecting their own.

Ethan really wanted a pinata too. We didn't bring a blindfold, so Rob improvised and pulled the boys shirts over their heads. (The girls had to just close their eyes.)

It was a fun weekend with family. Just what Ethan wanted. I love that he chose family over friends, and that he loves his family so much.

A new basketball season

Porter and Ethan had their first basketball game of the season on Saturday. This is Lincoln's first season, and it is so adorable watching 4 year olds play basketball!

Porter is all business in his games. He is so fast, and is always the first one down the court.

Even while sitting on the bench Porter is so into the game. All the other kids weren't even paying attention.

Even though at his age they don't keep score, Porter always does. He let us know after the game that his team won. Love my little sports fan. 

Ethan's birthday

Ethan is 9 today and I can't believe it. 

Ethan is always using my camera to take pictures and make silly videos, so this year I got him his own camera for his birthday. I think he was pretty happy about it.

He still loves to make creations with legos, so he got some of those too.

 I love this kid. He has a great sense of humor and is always cracking me up. I just wish he would stop growing so fast!

Big Boy

Bryson just got a new big kid bed and he's pretty excited about it. I hope his excitement continues at bedtime. We are moving him out of his crib a lot earlier than I had planned. I found a good deal on this bed, so I just planned on storing it in the garage until I was ready. Well, as soon as we got it home Rob decided that we should just go ahead and put it in there, and before I could argue he was dismantling the crib. It's kind of weird, every time we have moved one of the kids out of the crib, it was because we had another on the way. Now the crib is in the garage and it will most likely not be returning to the house. Kind of bittersweet, but I am excited to move on to the next phase of life with these big kids.

Funny Boys

These boys were in a funny mood today. It started with Ethan.

Then Porter joined in...

and then Bryson wanted in on the fun too.
