We had a lot of fun during spring break. We started off our week in Oceanside. We got to our hotel Monday just before 5 pm. As Rob was checking us in they told him that on Mondays they have a pizza night at the hotel, and that they would be providing free pizza and soda. So we scored a free dinner as soon as we got there. Once we were settled in we took the boys to the hot tub, and then finished the night watching a movie in our room.
We were only a couple of blocks from the beach, so we were able to get there early the next day. Ethan dug a hole and made his own hot tub at the beach.
When he wasn't in it, his little brothers took it over.
The boys figured out how to launch the football in the air using the boogie boards. They spent a good part of the afternoon doing this over and over again.
After we were done at the beach we took the boys to get ice cream...
and then went right to the hot tub back at our hotel.
Wednesday we went to Tamarack Beach. There was hardly anyone there and we felt like we had the place to ourselves. Porter spent most of the day in the water
while the other 3 got straight to digging.
and got us to help them this time too. We got that hole pretty deep.
Ethan and I were taking a selfie,
and I invited Porter to join me for a picture too. He does not like his picture being taken and ran off, but I still got him.
Bryson hasn't really liked getting in the water at all at the beach, not even his toes. After a couple of days at the beach he finally started getting comfortable with it, and wanted me to jump over the waves with him. That just meant that we jumped when the water barely made it to our feet, but it's progress. He preferred hanging out with a snack.
Thursday we hung out at home, and Friday we anxiously awaited the Heywood's arrival to spend the rest of the weekend with us.
Saturday morning we headed out to the beach again. This time we went to Crystal Cove State Beach. We had never been there before, and it was so nice. The water was clearer than any other SoCal beach I had been to before. The boys started digging again, and this time got Spencer to help.
Emily and Lincoln were making their own.
It was such a nice day. We all had so much fun hanging out together.
Yesterday was Easter, and General Conference. We had a relaxing day at home. It was a great way to end the week.
