Today was a special day for our family. Ethan was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He has been excited for this, but a little nervous about how it all works. Before the service started, Rob took him to the font and showed him where to go and gave him a run down of what was going to happen.
There were several other kids getting baptized the same day. The chapel was packed!! They excused everyone by ward, and we were last, so we waited a while, but it was nice to be able to stay in the room with the font to finish the service. He was the only one being baptized from our ward, so we got to choose the rest of the program. When I asked Ethan what song he wanted to sing for the closing song, he didn't hesitate. He chose "Nephi's Courage". It is his favorite primary song, and I thought it was the perfect choice. The world is only getting crazier, and he will need courage like Nephi to be strong and valiant to keep his baptismal covenants. I'm so proud of Ethan and his choice to get baptized. He is an amazing kid.
After the baptism, we invited all our friends and family to join us back at our house to celebrate Ethan's baptism, and Bryson's birthday. Bryson's got his own smash cake, and he was in heaven!! He wasn't sure wasn't sure what to do with it at first, he was just looking at it. We tried to get him to put his hands in it, but he didn't like it. Finally, he just bent over and took a big bite out of it. He ate it for a while this way, which had everyone laughing, then finally got serious and dug his hands in and made quite a mess!!
